You could also do this
Tune tires to Drift and use either just the handbrake or a combo of the two and minimize your contact with walls and stuff and there is usally a point in the drift where you suddenly get faster and if your going fast enough, you'll pass the car but beware your gona have to keep speed because usually either you'll get away or he'll just keep right on you and your points will drop quickly
Hope this helps

Is there a certain tecnique to driving down a canyon
Thanks for the advice. In the end I faced angie, and I hammered her. On the circuit she was fairly quick, but she wansn't exactly flying. On the canyon I passed her and pinksliped her car
Best Way down the canyons
Accel off seems to work really well for me.

Wow! A 4 month old thread revived. Haha! Errm Canyon to me is basically about theree things:
1.) Car - Use the right car for different tier requested
2.) Tracks - Study the tracks and see which one(s) you like best
3.) Practice - Master the track(s) you like most(for me, I've mastered Copper Ridge and Eternity Pass)
After following these, I'm sure you'll do well in Canyon races.
P.S: Some Canyon tracks can be identical to some, except that they're only mirrored. I just found out last month that Knife's Edge is a mirrored version of Copper Ridge, or vice-versa.

Use 1 of the following cars; Lamborghini Murcielago or Gallardo, Porsche Carrera GT, Ford GT (GT40) and finally Mercedez-Benz Mclaren SLR these cars are fast and have good handling.
On some wide corners you can get away with just easying of the accelerator, but on others you'll need to tap the brakes and then if NOS is available, accelerate out of the corner... you could also try the hand-brake or using a combo of handbrake and foot brake but i don't recommend it cause it slows you down too much... esspecially when your racing against Darious in a canyon dual!
if you get deprate try dirty driving where, when a corner comes up you use your opponent as a cussion, most of the time when you do this your opponent will slow down dramaticlly giving you the lead.... and even if they don't its all good fun!

Re:
Try beating Darius with engine breaking, it don't work to well. For me, it was just break times. Break before the turn and accelerate at the apex.Zonda_Z wrote:My opinion: Use Manual transmission, every time u go to a sharp curve, lower the gear once, and then make the turn, after that, gain back the speed and continue the race.
Worked for me, so i beaten every boss with one straight race.
Re: Is there a good technique to driving round a canyon at speed
if u r the good driver u can beat the boss by got in the fornt of them and staying for the count down to gt end...
i have beaten them many time...
and trust me u dont have to play canyon 2 times....(TRICK)

Thanks everyone.
Re: Is there a good technique to driving round a canyon at speed
for the first three bosses the easy way is to take a untuned mustang and on darius take take a fully tuned lacer but if you good with muscle or just want to use muscle cars then the corvette i beat him this way on my second try first time i fell out with full tuning and drift tiers horse power engine and acceleration transmission automatic.
