Re: What car do you drive ?
I looked around, and I am starting to see the good in finding the Jap import SSS, with ATTESA AWD and the SR20DETT. I found one with 104,000 kays on the clock, 5-speed manual, metallic black, for AU$9,000.

The same price as you get here.boganbusman wrote:About 24k in Euros.

Jeez, you have expensive taste. A car like that is the same deal as the Soarer.Koenigsegg_Rox wrote:I looked around, and I am starting to see the good in finding the Jap import SSS, with ATTESA AWD and the SR20DETT. Nothing wrong with wanting a cool car, but there are a lot of things wrong with buying a car that you can't afford to keep.
If you are dead set on buying an import (for whatever reason) then first cut your 10k in half and go from there. Keep the other half for all the stuff that needs to be/will need to be fixed.

I don't know much about this stuff, but IMO you should stick with a car that's an official company import, not a privatly contracted import, or a limited-production run for Australia. Stick with something that has plenty of spare parts available, and one that you can find a good deal for easily.
oh snap

Re: What car do you drive ?
What, a Bluebird? Oh, come on, that's nothing like a Soarer. Our old SSS had 384,000 on the clock and apart from the heads-up display, nothing was wrong. and plus of the 44 Bluebirds present on carsales, only 3 were actually above 10,000. And as for halving the 10k, yes at the moment I will, but this is for future reference, not a right-now jobbie. First I need a job that actually gives me hours.....boganbusman wrote:Koenigsegg_Rox wrote:Jeez, you have expensive taste. A car like that is the same deal as the Soarer.

Koenigsegg, not everyone takes good care of their cars (as I'm highly assuming you did considering how many clicks you got on it).

Re: What car do you drive ?
But what I'm saying is, they're dependable cars. And I have enough sense to look around first. And while baumaxx's comment is quite obvious, it also makes sense...

Re: What car do you drive ?
I'm sure there are a number of other cars can be dependable if they were taken care of just as well. The only reason why you might consider the SSS before them is because you've had first hand experience with it.
And baumaxx's comment makes sense because it's obvious
PS - I see there are some updated emotes

Re: What car do you drive ?
AE86 are very hard to find for cheap. The JZA70 is expensive to buy and to run, as are FB and FC RX7's, particularly turbos. The MR2 is good value, but twitchy, particulalry the 2nd generation ones. The Miata/MX5 is the perfect RWD learner.viper16 wrote:koenigsegg if your looking for a cheap RWD car heres some good ones:

Re: What car do you drive ?
Time for an update. I just brought some 16" TSW Volcanoes for my 1996 honda prelude SI VTEC. Ive been trying to save for my car for ages and I finally got a bit of time to work and earn some money. I really like the look of the wheels even thought theyre only 16"s.
Heres some recent pictures, sorry about the quality, I havent had a chance to catch any daylight:
I also have some JDM blacked backed headlights on the way (Original Honda ones) and some Cobra lowering springs. I wont be able to install the springs until I get my lisence back in a month and a half unfortunatly.
Thanks for looking.

Re: What car do you drive ?
They look good, but you definitely need those springs
I went the other way round (put springs in first) because personally I would hate to have nice wheels with jacked-up suspension
I'll be getting my Rota RBs as soon as I can find someone who sells them in the right colour and size.

True, the springs arrive tommorow but I can't put them in yet. can't wait to put them in lol.
Re: What car do you drive ?
That thing will be looking sweet sitting low and sporting some JDM headlights. I was gonna post a link to a really helpful installation guide that I used for the headlights, but it's been 404'd. But if you need any help, feel free to ask.
Also, this jumper harness makes the process twice as easy: http://passwordjdm.com/PasswordJDM-BB4- ... 68C50.aspx

Re: What car do you drive ?
I see it's update time here.
I've also got some with my S14.
Got some new enginebay bling in the form of FMIC-piping:
Also have new taillights:
At home I've got waiting R33 GTS-t front brake calipers and R32 GT-R drilled discs to go with them.
Also got a set of Ultralite TAKA rims; size 8,5x18" for front and 9,5x18" for rear:
Everything is just moving a bit slowly on this project

Slow is good, slow is taking time to find what is right...
And going slow in a project means you have more time to admire everything you buy

Re: What car do you drive ?
Heh know the feeling, things are going veeery slow here. I find I have alot of time to appriciate the rims
Thanks Zero260, with the need to limit expense ill go without the harness and wire them up myself, there should be more info around google somewhere if need be.
The Silvia is looking sweet. The S14 has always been one of my favourite cars.

That's true. Another great thing is that I get to drive car, instead of it sitting in a garage for weeksTheStig wrote:Slow is good, slow is taking time to find what is right...
