I just got some information about NFSU2:
Gamespy just post a Hands-On preview here:
http://ps2.gamespy.com/playstation-2/ne ... 844p1.html
it says in the article that there will be a new mode called streetcross.
Quote:"The event I had been invited to was a Streetcross race. These circuit matches take place in tiny closed arenas which causes the gameplay to feel similar to a kart racer."
There has also been more video clips found by Skyline_man:
http://media.xbox.ign.com/media/679/679033/vids_1.html
EA has also posted an article here:
http://www.eagames.com/official/nfs/und ... rc=sotg_01
New screens at gamespot:
http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/driving/nee ... index.html
BURGER KING!! lol

Hmm, I found this while surfing at GameSpy. This game is called Street Racing Syndicate (http://srs.namco.com/). It has almost the same features as NFSU2, but I don't know much about this game, and there are some prose and cons of buying either NFSU2 or SRS.
SRS: This game is made by Namco. This game has cops, licensed body kits (I think), and you CAN choose sexy babes to be your assistant, like standing beside your car before the race and posing beside your car for picures for magazines. This game also has more than 40 licensed cars. (Shipping in August on all platforms)
NFSU2: Excellent graphics, better vynils. But no cops, and limited space to paste decals (if you concenterate on the Mitsubishi Evolution which has the CARBON body kits, the decals' positions are in the same position like in NFSU1). In SRS, decals can be pasted at the front & rear bumpers, hoods (more than 7), and even spoilers!
Performance wise, I am not so sure. But if you are interested, you might wanna check it out.
After learning about this 2 street racing games, I'm in a dillema on which game I should buy. Looks like EA has some competitive competitors to handle!!
*P.S: Sorry spike_minoda, I really wanna stress this out to everyone.

Its proper name is 'butterfly bonnet'. Heres my crude attempt on paint.
