Car Customization Based By Driving? (-___-)
http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/11/hands ... eed-shift/
"Leveling up will open up new cars and customization options, and an aggressive driver can end up with an extremely different looking vehicle than someone who is a calculated racer."
OK. So what if I like a body kit or whatever that only a aggressive driver can get? I change how I play the game just to get that body kit? Stupidity. Customization should be what it is. CUSTOMIZATION. Getting my car to look the way I want it to look.
On a better note, 70 hrs. play time to complete the career mode sounds good.

it sounds kinda lame about the customization so if i drive aggressively i will get guns or tank armor on my car?
i thought all body kits are the same?

Yeah, I read that to mean after the race. The agressive drive will have a dinged up ride and the other will be clean. Course, if that does imply certain things are unlocked then it would, in fact, suck.

I do believe that he states that it affects when cars and parts are unlocked.

They always have to have a little tinker with it, to make it rubbish in my opinion. It's like if they don't do it then the game will be crap because there is nothing to achieve. Ahh well it's only my opinion, so no need to cry.

This would make sense if races and parts were organized in stages like in ProStreet. While you're completing a certain stage, driving a certain way unlocks those particular parts for that particular stage. Then when you progress to the next stage, all the parts from the previous stage get unlocked (but you've already spent money upgrading your car, so you probably won't change much).
Do I think anyone at Black Box/Slightly Mad had that idea? Probably. Do I think that idea made it into the game? Probably not.
But I have to put this little caveat here, as I've been doing with every post about Shift. We're all assuming here. We don't know for sure how the system will feel and work in the game. We shouldn't be calling the system stupid if we haven't experienced it ourselves, despite how stupid and silly the idea might sound.

yeah that was gay with the cars hated that and to Prince that's all we can do (assume) at this stage so we might as well do it hey? (rhetorical question you say yes)InternationalClassic wrote:This reminds me of carbon....

you never know what he means. he could mean vinlys and performance based (Aggro= Flames, performance parts that promote outright speed. Calm=performance parts that are balanced, less flashy vinlys etc.)

I actually think that your driving style will affect how you unlock parts. For example, like the post above me (Of donaldgladden's) if you race properly then it might mean that you'll unlock aggressive vinyls later on in the game, maybe closer to the end and that you'll unlock less aggrresive and less showy vinyls earlier on. If my theory is correct, then it will just be vice versa for an aggrresive driving style.
