Graphics Problem
Graphics Problem
Hey guys. I have a graphics problem. When I turn the world detail all the way up, it really messes the world up. I get a bunch of black holes all over the scree. I have the NVIDIA GeForce MX 420. If you need any specifics let me know. Thanks

Sure, here they are:
VPR Matrix PC/Widnows XP Home
Pentium 4 at 2.53 GHz
512 MB of RAM at 400 MHZ
93.1 GB HD (only 15.9 used)
M70 HP Pavilion Montior
NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420, 250 MHz core, 64 MBytes 166 MHz 128bit SDR memory (is this a good card?)
Don't know anything else, but I guess I could find out if needed. I have have never had a problem like this with any other games, the graphics are great in every other game (NFSU1, all other NFS Games, Soldier of Fortune, etc)

You're not the only one having problems... My computer just rebooted after I went back to the default settings, and then tried to go up on the resolution. I've also noticed that some of the settings make my screen go all loony when I change them (like the Anti-Aliasing). My drivers are probably a bit old, but I still think I need a serious upgrade. I want to play both NFSU2 and GTA SA (when it's released) with rather good graphics...
My specs:
CPU: AMD Athlon XP2400+
RAM: 512 MB
HD: 530 GB (around 100 free, probably less)
GFX: GeForce4 TI 4200, 128 MB
Any thoughts?

@NFSKiller: umm I dont think your graphic card is capable of playing the game with Full eye-candy on. But it should play it welll in the lower graphic settings.
@Morty: The GeForce Titanium series is actually pretty good. Comparable to an oldish ati9500/9700 ( not the 9600 though) i would think. About the AA, i would blame the hardware, it may not support all the high-fi gimmicks in recent games. But you shud still be able to play at resoanble resolutions. This I blame at EA engine's buggy code!

I have the ATI 9000 and when I upgraded to the drivers from http://www.omegadrivers.net/ as some have done from the post I saw on GamersGen. I saw a VERY noticable difference in the quality and preformance of my graphic card, both in NFSU1/2 and other games.
I have before pics of the cars in my garage, here is after.
