New NFSC Preview at IGN

Post by Skyline_man »

The online magazine IGN posted a new preview for Need For Speed Carbon, packed with some new screenshots and 7 new videos.
Each member has two of six skills, one off the track and one on. For racing, a crew member will be classified as a Blocker, Scout or Drafter. During a race you'll be able to tell your teammate to perform their ability a few times per race (as to not overdo it) and help you get ahead. They're able to win races for you, but you're the main focus so they're present more for support and will drop back to help you out even if it means losing a few positions.
Read the preview here.
Download the videos here.

IGN wrote:The absolute coolest thing about Need for Speed Carbon however is its Autosculpt system. The best way to think of it is as Game Face or Fight Night's boxer creator for a car. You're essentially given analog control over the shape of the major pieces of your car, allowing you to raise, lower, angle, shrink, expand and even twist parts however you want (within reason, of course). Each car class will feature somewhere between seven to 10 Autosculpt regions, and in each one of those regions you'll be able to edit numerous pieces.

So for example, when editing tires you're able to change the depth, width and twist of the rims, the width and depth of the tires and more. On the hood, you might be able to change the angle of air intakes, whether or not and how far a supercharger sticks out, the angle and size of retractable lights and more. The same goes for the spoiler and basically anything else you can think of. It's almost impossible to say how much customization you can do here simply because we've already seen a ton of variety and we've only been shown a handful of the options.
neato :D. at least something is living up to the hype EA is putting on it. makes me look forward to Carbon, actually.

The autosculpt system sounds quite cool , we might fianlly be able to closely replicate cars from Fnf movies ect . Not to mention what we will be able to create .

man, the whole idea about autosculpt sound great,
but ea has to do something with the clarity of that game.
the tracks are darker than a fat women`s butt-hole bro,
i hope they do some about dat

The one thing i'm really worried about this game is its game physics... I was pretty happy bout the adjustment made by EA on MW coz the handling is much better and smoother, now if Carbon handles like the one in U2 then this game would suck!

just my 2 cent.

yeah, i found UG2 had bad oversteer even with suspension upgrades. but this game is sounding more and more promising. anyone notice the damage model on the gallardo? i seems as though you can finally bang up your car rather than just scrape and scratch it's paint!

it's a 1st gen camaro

and i noticed from teh videos that the sounds of the cars have improved quite a bit!

EDIT: also, i don't know if it's for sure, but did anyone else noticed 6-8 cars racing instead of jsut 4? could this mean that the full grid option has returned from earlier games?

Actually there ARE 8 cars in a race, because simply you are racing with your crew against another crew.

still, there are 7 other cars on the road with you. so it'll be much more fun seeing as how the roads will be more crowded. time to practice the good ole P.I.T.

the music during the race is absolutely perfect...it's dark, silent...it's going to be cool...
let's face it, we eill never see another NFS game where you can tune your car like in U2...
:(
in MW we did'n have neons, split hoods, doors, nitrous purge, mirrors, hidraulics, spinners, AND not even taillights or headlights, or MUFFLER TIPS ...and we could'n paint the engine accents, not even the brake calipers, or the spoiler
I just hope that Carbon has at least half of this...MW's weak tuning spoiled almost half of the pleasure of playing NFS...maybe just beacuse we were used to "narrow" games like Us

I can hardly wait the official carlist :D

i'm wondering if anyone has played "Street Legal Racing: Redline"? I loved the customisation in that game, but it was way too buggy and truthfully, crap. But the customisation was amazing, you could build your own car right from the chassis to putting the engine together. Just a thought for ea to have very different difficulty modes and have sumthing like that incorporated.
