NFSC: Another developer interview

Post by Bojan »

Gamestar.hu got a chance to interview Chris Brown from EA who explained a few things about the next sequel to the Need for Speed Series: NFS Carbon.
Will there be some beautiful ladies in the beginning of every race like in NFS: Underground? If yes, how many?
We’re still trying to finalize exactly how the races will start in Carbon. Hopefully we can have some beautiful ladies in there for you!
You can read the whole interview here.

Sound like the Crowds of people and the ladies at the starting line will make a return. I missed that in MW.

IMO the girls in NFS U looked better then in in U2, in the first underground they looked more realistic. in U2 they looked well I don't know.. weird.

Yeah Stig. I noticed that too. The only one in U2 that actually looked ok was the one holding the flares before URL Races. I hope EA does a better job this year.

BTW it seems that there will be cyno tuning this time. In the interview the EA dude mentioned that you will be able to tune your cars for each race mode.

One thing I really missed from underground was the briges that you had to jump, that was cool. 8) I also hope the bring back the civilian trucks from MW, i like going under them. :D Oh an the girls i missed a lot, because mostly in real life the street races start with the girls starting the race. 8)

50 Cent will appear in the soundtrack?
We’re still waiting to finalize all of the music in the game this year, so I can’t comment on any specific artists at this point.
omg no :?
i was liking the things i heard in the videos so far.. i was glad they moved away from this hip-hop/rap stuff and now i read that

well, there is always WMP or WA i guess

I hope you will be able to upload your own MP3 files in the game like motoGP.

How high do you think you are when going off one of those jumps... 20-30 feet? So let's see, you're car would be falling at ~10 meters/sec/sec. Bleh, I can't be bothered doing the math now, but I can guess that you're car would be hitting the ground at like 25 mph. Ya, your car would be toast. Especially if your car were lowered as much as the cars are in the game.

Heh, well, have you seen the movie? In the scene where they go off that huge jump onto the freeway, you can see the front right wheel getting totally screwed up. That car will never be driven again. :P They had to have used at least 4 cars while making that movie and countless others for the show.

I liked the part with the bridges in U1... it was fun... and abit of the old NFS style...

IN NFS 3/4 there where several tracks that had some HUGE air!

for instance if you did hometown backwards you could jump really high on the covered bridges (with a CLK GTR I managed to fly over the second bridge... :D)

And on celtic ruins you could get some big air also. but NFS 4 had damage... and your speed and handling went down after a landing..

Hey Stig remember the Outback track in NFS2 SE. You could get some crazy air on the last jump on that track too.

ohhh man I remember the outback track... I used to get rediculous air by setting the game on simulation then setting the gear ratios on tall and then pick the mclaren F1 and blaze my way up to 275mph and hit that ramp and almost go sailing off the planet lol..

didn't the MW demo come out about a month before the game? so two months is indeed earlier.

anyways, for those interested, here's the carlist as it stands right now.
