Drifting on the Spot

Post by Skyline_man »

Wanna see the first drifting footage ? Gamespot's On the Spot weekly show was dedicated this week to EA's games, and for sure NFSPS was shown, and so was the drifting mode, and i bet you'll like the new drifting car. 8)

Watch the video or download it here.

Another Drag race was also shown, you can also check it out here.

Stay tuned...

Well its definetly looking like EA improved on the basic gameplay of almost every mode in nfs prostreet. I mean I like the drifting mode in carbon but the video of prostreet one, looks like its gonna feel alot better.... plus implementation of the clutch mechanic.
As for the Drag racing I'am throughly impressed with everything I seen thus far It only has me wondering is every drag mucle car gonna have to run soft springs and no lowering just to fit there slicks? every shot of muscle cars seams to be raised a little high off the ground for me, I mean I understand weight distribution suspensionwise but I'am little worried in that respect

yeah..the Drifts here are more realistic than Carbon....just moving the rear end of ur car -.-'
and tho we are going to be racing on official tracks...I still think it's going to be a great experience...

This Drifting video worries me. I don't see any skid marks. I'm beginning to suspect that they're slowly removing things one at a time before the final release. :?

well the drifting smoke was cool

and i think for the drifting video at 1.06 the car was seen by the front view

and i think it is a s15 as it is similar as this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Nissan_s15.jpg

and for the drag video i think there are 2 new cars 1 of them is a mustang gt and their other 1 is a GTO (2006) version

No skid marks? Well what do you know, just like Gran Turismo! (Never noticed, does Forza Motorsport 2 have skid marks as well?)
Seems like this website is a ghost town. No longer worth a visit or anyone's time.

Yeah, definitely a S15 Silvia :D I'm kinda disappointed though... It's definitely a big improvement from Carbon, but it still looks like your car is on ice... He was just turning and getting sideways without weight transfers or anything :( And the smoke looks awesome but it's kinda lame that there's instantly huge clouds of smoke when the tires loose traction... Maybe I'm being too picky.

Aw, I gotta watch all this crap? Oh well, thanks man.

Any idea how far into the video they start talking about NFS:PS?

Edit: Nevermind, Found it. Around 101:20 in...

Edit (again): Phew, the drifting was with assists ON ("pick up and play")... No wonder it looked like the car was on ice. Can't wait to see real techniques used!

there is just one thing that is bothering me about speed chal. ive noticed that if you go off track even without hitting anything it slows you from 300 kmh to 60 kmh in about 10 meters. call me picky but thats not right even if you was to hit the bushes at 300kmh it would NOT slow you down that much
