Spoilerless cars......A Possibility!!!!!!

Post by MikeFarrar »

After a little bit of mucking around in the NFSU2 folder and an idea spawned by THIS thread i managed to do something incredible. The pictures below explain everything and no this aint no photoshop fellas this is the real deal!!!!

Picture 1
A Supra (mah favourite car :) ) with no spoiler.

Picture 2
Same Supra at a different angle

Picture 3
Still not convinced? How about a skyline?

Ok, i think at this point most of u peeps are foaming at the mouth trying to figure out how the hell i did this. Actually it's quite simple.
-Go to C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Need for Speed Underground 2
-Go tot he CARS directory.
-Find the folder name SPOILER, make a backup of it.
-Rename the folder SPOILER to SPOILERS.
-Start up NFSU2

NOTE: Removes all your spoilers from all your already customized cars, so if you don't like it just paste your backup copy of SPOILER and delete the folder SPOILERS.

Well that's about it.....oh yeah thanks to Imageshack for the hosting!

Yup, same thing works for roofscoops aswell, if you want cars without the sunroof. (rename the ROOF folder).

(see my 240SX for example, no sunroof or scoop)

Testing 3, 2, 1....

Image

No-brakes cheat confirmed. It rocks! (yeah looks unreal, but still)

You know the method --> Change the Brakes folder name to "Brakes2" i.e.

*BTW it is weird, but using level 3 brakes they are shown the stock brakes :? To get invisible brakes please install the level 2 discs.

___

Edited: When you change the wheels name, they disapear totally (which is not very interesting...)

Re-edited: Dont try to change the name of the file called Textures.bin in the Wheels folder.... (unless u wanna make da Ali G car)

______

Thanks Imageshack for the hosting and Te4o_bg, the one who discovered all this :D

That's what I like to see, no spoiler! Some cars just look better without one. Thanks for the tip anyways.

I tried to make a stock cf hood - didnt work
It can be done only if there is a car in the game that has a stock cf hood (maybe one of the character's cars?), if its not in the game then the game cant do it, u need to add it to the game
the only thing i can think of is a cf hood vinyl...

A stock CF hood would be awesome. I was expecting it during the release of UG2. Too bad, huh?
