Useful Firefox extensions

Post by jemc »

ok this thread is all about the extensions for FF that make your internet browsing easy.
ok, let's get is started:
Adblock - really great extension that lets you block thos annoying flash ads (you can also block unwanted images)
Auto Copy - do you get pissed because you must use CTRL + C to copy the text? well this extension changes it all. just highlight the text you want to copy and paste it (doesn't work in the address bar, though)
FoxyTunes - did you want to have your favourite music player in your FF browsing window? if yes, this is your bect choice. you can choose betwen 14 most popular players. (doesn't support playlist (yet))
Gmail notifier - check your inbox with one click. you also get informed on every new mail
downTHEMall! - sometimes it happens that you see a page that has whole bunch of good pictures and you want to download them all to a single folder. with this extension you can download the pics with just couple of clicks (comes handy for pr0n freaks  )
DictionarySearch - did you see a new word and you don't know what it means. with this extension just higlight the text, press the right mouse button and do a little research on the word (the search opens in new tab)
Disable Targets For Downloads - with this extension you can eliminate those irritating blank windows that open when you download a video or two

so this is basicly it. i hope you can find something useful here

This one too:

Mouse Gestures

I specifically like the very handy page backward/forward (which you do a lot on this site for instance) gesture.

Nope, didn't remove IE. You need it for Windows Update anyway, so not a good idea to remove it.

Sure bbcode is easy enough, but the plugin saves you having to actually type it - just select the text you want to mark up and right click. A real timesaver if you post, erm, frequently...

Also, it does HTML and XHTML. I wouldn't be without it.

@wowirace: You need to restart FF after installing the BBCode thing if I remember rightly. You can test by highlighting some text you've just typed in a forum post text box, and right clicking - there should be a BBCode menu there with bunches of options and choices and stuff likes thats.

@master m: We need links! LINKSLINKSLINKS!! >_<

The miniT thing fixes one issue I've had with FF since switching from Avant - there you could drag and drop tabe to whatever order and it was really handy. I have pretty much all of the rest.
