Welcome to the boards mate!
You will find races in the Career mode as you're in the Free Roam mode. Just go to the map and look for the races. The colored circles can be identified by using the legends, so you can know what type of race you'll be racing.
Alternatively, you can always go to the World Map by the Garage if you're just too lazy to find it yourself. Here're are some useful links, for future reference.
