it is faster but just theoretically yet :) the best advantage of PCI-E 16x is now the SLI system imo.

Is it me or have the prices of cards plummeted?? i remember the 6800gt was like 400 at first now you can get it for like 300. same with the x800pro. its like 280 soemtimes. and ive noticed that its only the high end cards that dropped so much. and liek the 6600gt droped like 20. is it cause they keep making newer cards? or have they jsut dropped the price so they can get more buyers?

I got my GeForce FX 5500 for $130. 256mb of RAM and a 290mhz clock. Underground 2 looks reeeally pretty now. :D After a bad experience with my Radeon 7000 series (which sucked compared to the nVidia it replaced) , I won't be switching back anytime soon.

I recommend that card to anyone who has the money

yuo should definetley buy a 6600GT, but can your PSU support it? you need like a 300w PSU otherwise dont really bother cause your pc wont have enough juice to support it

im guessing its DDR ram, cause i dont think they make the 6600GT in 256 GDDR3, only in 128GDRR3 versions, thats a decent price

i decided to buy a new gfx card and replace my integrated ATI Radeon 9100. i don't have a lot of money so i'm looking for cards up to € 83,48/$101,42. i have 3 cards in mind:

ABIT RADEON 9550128MB CDT (€76,39/$92,80)
Image

SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9550SE 128 (€74,30/$90,26)

SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9600SE 128 (€78,47/$95,33)

which one do you recommend and why?

Weird, I never heard of Abit video cards :?

Anyway...

The best choice is Radeon 9550CDT, because I run away from anything that has "SE" in the name. I don't know the specific reason, it's just experience on first hand.

From those three I would buy the first model, Abit Radeon 9550CDT 128MB, I believe that Abit manufactures quality hardware (motherboards, atleast).

/me recommends saving for Radeon 9600XT(101.25€ at my local dealer, I bought it myself, and honestly, you can't get a better card for that money) :P
