well, it is on a site called http://www.3d-palace.com. its in the free tutorial section, Imperial Sentinel. video tutorial so its much easier to follow. that is probably the best site for tutorials. another good site is http://www.scifi-meshes.com. just sign up on both those site(for free) and use some tutorials. you can even buy some REALLY good ones. Sir Ibi posted some renders of the Dreadnaught up in his earlier posts.

I'm working on a Cadillac CTS model, its shaping up to be as good as GT4 if not even better. My next door neighbor has recording equipment and a few more houses down somebody has a CTS, this car is going to be for UT2004, I'm gonna replace the scorpion with my model. Its goning to take 2 or three months since the inside of the car isn't going to be a picture. The inside is going to have detail right down to each little nob for the a/c and volume nobs.

Oh and how come on 3d palace when i start a download the place in line wont change when it gets to the 173rd place in line.

How do you get materials to reflect the environment in 3DS Viz?

well right now the site is going through some massive changes, the site pretty much had to be backed up 2 months, no big problem will be solved fairly quick . and as for the CTS make sure you only have a small number of polies or the game wont be able o render it. i think like 2500 is the max for that game.

Thanks. I know there are a lot of competitons going but how about a computer modeling competition. Some one comes up with a topic and we each make a model of something that has to do with the topic, for instance if star wars was the topic you could make a model of anything from the movies such as what I'm making now. Just a thought.

If you want, but I don't think there are many 3D artists on this forum, so I really don't see many people joining in.

Why are some parts smoothed and others not?

A lack of smoothing perahps? Everytime you extrude in 3DS Max, smoothing is not applied, so you gotta smooth it yourself later on.

Good progress there Weedman, keep at it! :)

Once I get the whole thing done I'll smooth it out and then I might texture it. My next model is going to be a Lotus Elise.

if it is your first time modelling a car, i suggest you do the A3 tutorial. the lotus elise tutorial is extremely hard for beginners like you and me because it has no audio and is much harder to follow than the A3. i'll even attach the blueprints for ya :)
