I refer you to my previous answer

I have damage on, partly because I take a perverse pleasure in scraping my $200,000 exotic and driving it like a stock car (just wish the damage model was a little bit more realistic and the car dented); and partly because if I don't, Sgt Cross would do it for me anyway... 8)

Off, it's just visual. And NFS Carbon needs beautiful blinging cars.

Could you please vote ON? That way they will develope a decent damage system.

Viewing these results they will decide not to make a game with damaged models ;)

I don't really care whether damage is on or not. But do you notice the cars in burnout revenge aren't real cars, they look like them but aren't, thats because they couldn't get licenses to use the real cars in the game and have them demolished. The car companies don't want their cars looking all smashed up even if it's in a game. EA would have used a damage system if it didn't mean losing the licensing to some of the exotic cars and other companies that don't want to see their cars damaged.

True, but didn't they have a decent damage model in HP2?

It's funny how our cars barely get damaged (scratched) while Police Cars can EXPLODE, have doors and hoods ripped off, etc.

Why do the companies license their cars to other games with good damage models (PGR3)?

EA is lazy.That is all.

in the latest nfs games i have turned it off because it is only cosmetic, it just looks dumb. but in pro street i will definitely turn it back on because it is actual damage.
