I saw a Saleen S7 Twin Turbo driving in my town and I followed it to a dealership about 45 minutes away from me and they let me sit in it! It was awesome... Really hard to get into but once you're in, you're snug as a bug. And right behind you is a window straight to the engine... The intake is right by your head. It's so awesome! Here's my favorite picture I took of it:

And someone at the dealership said they had a Bugatti Veyron coming in soon. Black/Black with Black leather interior and White stitching (amazing). Can't wait to see it (hopefully).

Haha, believe me it was tempting. It was pretty crazy inside of it though. I dunno if I would ever drive it on the street if I owned it. It feels so massive when you are in it, and the fender wells flare up on each side so you couldn't see anything if you were trying to park the thing. And of course you can't see behind you because there is a massive Twin Turbo V8 behind you... Not to mention how low the damn thing is. But damn would it be a fun track car on the weekends... The salesman at the place said that they've had it for over 5 years now. The main reason because anyone that can afford it, can't even fit in it...

The problem besides the seating is that it's too manic. Motor Magazine went to LA to test it against the Ford GT, and ranked the latter the better of the two, because even though the Saleen has a massive twin turbo'd V8, it's too loud for one, and doesn't have the performance to show for it for two. The GT beat it in both acceleration and top speed.

The Saleen is extremely overpriced and way overhyped.

Exactly. You could buy a GT for under half the price of the Saleen, and you get more. The doors take a piece of the roof out with them for easir getting into, it's roomier, and it has better performance. One of the writers of aforementioned MOTOR had a new favourite car in the GT, even considering that his earlier favourite car was the Porsche Carrera GT.

And Jeremy Clarkson's GT keeps breaking down. :P Can't expect any better from a Ford, though.

:-s I'm pretty sure the GT doesn't go 0-60 in less than 2.8 (Saleen)... Correct me if I'm wrong, but the GT does it in about 3.3? And the top speed of the Saleen is 248. The Ford GT goes about 205. Please correct me if I'm wrong, this is off the top of my head and some brief research.

But as far as a road car goes, I'd stick with the Ford GT for it's comfort. But as a track car, S7 hands down.

You've certainly got the 248 mph wrong, but not because it's from the top of your head, it is in actual fact slower than the Ford GT, and that information would have been hypothesised when the two turbos spool up, which takes a long time to do apparently. You could be right about the 2.8 seconds though, because I haven't read that issue of the magazine since last year.

Oh, and I'd take the GT no matter what. It certainly drifts better!

The Saleens performance figures were overhyped by them. They made ludicrous claims based on power/weight ratios and theoretical aerodynamic top speeds without actually testing the car to it's limits. In the end it proved to be much slower than they thought.

I've got that edition of MOTOR somewhere . . . they said that the Saleen would probably be faster on a track, because it's stiffer and more highly-strung, but it can't beat the GT on the street because it has no bottom-end grunt.

They also said the Saleen was very cramped, so I imagine that it would be hard to live with. And considering the price difference as well, GT wins easily.

If I was a car, being driven by Clarkson, I would want to break down as well :P Before he could drive me into a caravan or something
