For a 3 year old PC... before the time of windows media centre... before the time of PCI-E, before the time of DDR2... It's a great all rounder:

3.22 GHz Nothwood P4 HT (Better than Prescott for gaming)
Gigabyte Mo-Bo... It cost like $150...
1.25 Gig DDR400! RAM
80gig 8mb cache system and programs drive
320gig 16mb cache Gaming/Music/other stuff drive
160gig 1mb cache tempoary/TV/movies drive (gets formatted often)
Winfast TV2000XP Analogue TV/FM tuner
Winfast DTV1000 T HD Digital TV and Radio Tuner (Yes, watch TV + Radio + Recording + Play FEAR)
Case is a bit sucky... looks cool... cools... loudly.
DVD Burner 8x
17" BenQ monitor (22" wasn't around back then... cheap anyway... I can hook my rig up to a 127cm pioneer plasma though)
Big electronic indoor antenna + messy wiring
Cheap 2.1 speakers (but I mostly use my Sennheiser HD 515s)
Cheap Microshaft keyboard and mouse
XP SP2
... oh... did I mention the factory overclocked 7600GT. The entire card is covered in a heatsink and fan... and it's two spaces tall. Runs FEAR on max CPU, High Graphics with no noticable lag, Oblivion on high: no lag indoors, slight lag outside... NFS Carbon: Full, no motion blur (it's a bit much and unreal... more like alcohol blur), 1024x768. Yes... it is capable of Crysis. (and it's AGP 8x)
And it's 3 years old. Who said PCs become obsolete after 6 months? I know there are better PCs out there, but they are newer, more expensive... and this is versatile... Will makee a perfect media center for my room.

When I tested it out (my friend has the same computer, though he has had it for a longer time), it ran pretty well. Essentially, it is an NVIDIA Geforce 8600M-GT with Open-GL capability.

Wow... :| a Packard Bell?

And that "little box looking thingy" is called a subwoofer. I'd normally comment with something unnecessary, but I too got a new set so I'm totally happy right now. :P

Man, christmas is gonna be great...

My 360 RROD'd and my little cousin was messing with it and took off the warranty sticker. Well I asked for a new one and my mom said yes. But last night I got to thinking and I asked for computer parts, she also said yes. But since she put her holiday spending limit to $350 bucks, she's gonna give me the $350 and i'm gonna get the 7900GS KO/500W Thermaltake/Gigabyte Mobo. That's not all, this summer, I can get a job that pays $300 after 3 weeks (after taxes) and I should end up with $600-900 bucks in total, so i'm gonna get a C2D E6550 and a 500GB Barracuda :D:D:D

Gigabyte mobo: Here
C2D E6550: Here
7900GS KO: Here (Was 150 last night :D)
Thermaltake 500W: Here
500GB Barracuda: Here

Yeah. And it's quite weak with DX10 anyways...either that or just wait for the 89xx's...they'll be better optimized for it.

The 8600 GT is useless for DX 10 ... there's really not even a point in "upgrading" from a 7600 GT because it's not much faster for DX 9 ...

The 256 MB 8800 GT will be under $200 in December, so that's definitely the way to go ...

The 8800 GT 512 MB is obviously a better buy, but Carcrazy is on a limited budget and the 8800 GT 256 MB is an infinitely better card than the 8600 GT ...
