Also, did you know that the cake from Portal (if you disregard the disturbing recipe given by the Blue Eye) is actually a Black Forest cake or something? Again, Wikipedia is awesome.

Oh no, not Blackforest :o . The whipped cream they use in that always tastes funny, and makes me want to instantly throw-up. Also, you can't stick it in the fridge and eat it later, because the cream turns yellow and begins to solidify. Awful stuff. Even without the cream, the chocolate is quite a let-down, compared to the more pure chocolate flavour of mud-cake.

You sound like quite the cake expert, jacoja. I think for non-cheesecakes, it's hard to beat good ol' cookies and cream.

Where the hell do you buy your cakes from? :shock: I've never eaten a blackforest that had funny-tasting cream. Also I've never experienced the yellow cream, since I usually finish the cake in one day :mrgreen:

Ooh. I've had a large amount of blackforest cakes from all around Australia, and they all use that horrid cream. More to the fact, the cream they use between layers are too thick. The nice, soft whipped cream (that you use on a hot chocolate) would be too soft to hold the cakes layers together properly... so they add more crap to keep it together (and to make it last longer). Also, you should stick a piece of cake in the fridge one day, to see what I’m on about ,Fat bastard. :P

Yeah, I'm studying Engineering... so I know these things about cake :lol:
