Yes, Yet another suggestion.
Yes, Yet another suggestion.
If its been posted already great suggestion. Well here goes...
In regards to the "Free run" I think someone with more game editing ability than I should try this.
Take out all the barriors and the "return to track" for lack of a better term, so we can have a TRUE Free Run of the city. Linking all of the tracks together and giving access to all of the side streets and "direction Arrow" blocked areas.
In theory this should be possible as all of the tracks overlap at some point.
Maybe it will take someone with more game code knowledge and patience then me.

Yeh great idea there Noggle (and a great avatar too dude - lol!)
Only prob I can see is that the game won't likely handle that big of a map. Fact is that the game doesn't have the entire city in memory when you race, only those parts of it that are involved with the current track. It's just a clever illusion that all the tracks interconnect because they all borrow elements from each other. This idea also made the creation of the environment easier, cuz diesigners didn't have to make each track from scratch.
It's gotta be said, this is not stuff I know, it's stuff I presume, based on a working knowledge of software internals. Somebody pls correct me if I'm wrong...

Good call there viper...
only prob with MC is the cars just aren't that great and the sense of speed ain't nothing on what NFSU delivers...
Have u played MC or MC2 mate? I haven't played em much cuz I got MC2 at around the same time as NFSU, but the racing kind works like the sprint mode - there are checkpoints you have to go through that look like tall, er, shiny glowing things. You can go any way you like to get to the next one, but you usually have to do them in order. First to reach the last one wins...TheStig wrote:how can you trackrace , if you have free roam...
there is always one way that is the fastest...
maybe it would be cool in time trail... caus they suck... you go a some weird routes... and they are not the fastest

haven't played any of them... thought the shots looked crappy and as soon as I heard NFSU was comming I had to have it... I got all NFS games exept NFS HP2... need to buy it someday... then the Pack is complete... got them all from NFS1 then
BUT I must agree the reset is to soon in the game when you take (slide) a wong way you will be reset directly... and have to get up to speed all over again... maybe the reset point should have been placed further back... and ge rid of th roadblocks... (looks unreal...and stay with the flashy signs)

Yep , you gotta have HP2 mate - that was where I came in with the series. Loved it so much I even made a website with screens, a forum, car stats, cheats, walkthoughs etc etc. The site is gone now, but I still have it locally, including several hundred screens painstaking captured from replays. Here's a few to whet ur appetite...

Also sold C&C gerenals.. after I played it... cause I am not a fan of stratigy.. but this looked fun and it was... for a week till beat the game..
