NFSU2 @ 100%....hip hip hooray?!?!?......
NFSU2 @ 100%....hip hip hooray?!?!?......
Well, i've just completed all races.
Got all the parts.
All the cars.
All the dvd/magazine covers.
But somehow i feel a bit disapointed.
Don't get me wrong.
I liked NFSU1 and i liked NFSU2 even more.
But it just does not feel right.
THE GOOD:
- Engine sounds! (i love em! great! especially when downshifting.)
- Cars (nice variety of cars. Although never enough...)
- New upgrades. (Liked the hydraulics and audio and other stuff)
- The city! (damn, that's a nice new feature. Roaming the city for hours on end in your own pimped out car, looking for shops and races. NICE!)
- The graphics (as always, beautiful)
- The races (I also liked the new races a lot.)
- The dyno-test and tuning options. (a bit more mature than the overall game. I like it! you get to tune and test you car to make it just a little bit better than someone else's car.)
THE BAD:
- The AI. Sometimes i felt like the opponents were more busy trying to annoy me than winning the race. (they would cut you off into the railing and then stay in front of your car! that annoyed the hell out of me sometimes!)
- The way the traffic often transformed into solid mountains...(when hitting traffic at low speed the car could not be moved anymore and you are stuck against it... ANNOYING!!!!)
- Bouncing against the walls now and then...
- Why the hell did i get the feeling that i finished the game at about 60% of the game!??!!?!?
When i finished the "story" in the career mode it felt like the game was done. All cars, all parts. No more races in the map.
And no more money to be won when entering races via "world map".(until i read here that money CAN be won when restarting the race...)
Also, in all the races i entered via world map i faced the same opposition...all corolla's (the old one...) which wasn't much of a challenge...BORING!
Or sometimes i raced against SUV's (Hummers, Escalades, etc)....which even proved to be more of a challenge then the corolla's.....
Other than that there was absolutely NO more variety in opponents...that really sucked.
- The ending......when i finally reached 100% game completion, there was..............NOTHING! no congrats or anything! that sucked even more. Felt like i finished the remaining 25 - 30% for NOTHING!
THE UGLY:
- Some of the body parts....sheessh...how did EA come up with some of that crap?!?!?!?!
Annyhow....
Nice game.
A lot of fun.
But still A LOT of room for improvement if you ask me.
I liked the driving (overall)
Liked the upgrading.
But hated the way it ended.
In the end it was back to playing single races like in NFSU1 instead of driving to races in a big city as in the beginning of NFSU2.
Why the hell did they do this?

yep you can see the statistics.
I believe the default key for that is "T".(or check your keyboard config in the options)
Just press it during the game (in the city) and you'll get a lot of stats!

I hated the way this game ended as well.. In Underground 1, there always was a pushing compulsion to beat Eddie's posse and to race him eventually and also going to the top in all 4 rankings. In Underground 2, I loved the feel of the game but the story aspect was kinda lost, the ending was abrupt and the cutscenes were not very interesting. Hope they do better next time.

no no no...
My bitching has nothing to do with mindless playing or an AI that is no challenge.
I LOVED PLAYING THE GAME!!!
i really enjoyed it.
and yes i played it A LOT!
I enjoyed every fast second of it.
Until i finished the story mode @ about 60% (WHY NOT @ 100%?!?!?!?!)
Then the oponnents were only Corolla's who gave me NO competition what's so ever.
I even lapped the poor suckers on street-X races...
From then on the game was lost in my humble opinion.
for the record...I AM STILL PLAYING THE GAME!!!!!
Currently just tuning and decorating all the cars in the non-career mode.
Still enjoying the bone-chilling sounds of the automobiles. (and so are my neighbours...i guess... )
I just hope EA will make UG3 enjoyable AND exciting for the full 100%.
Just as it should be....if you ask me. no?
Every game i've played ends at the end.
At 100%.
Not at 30 or 40 or 50 or 60 or whatever %....
"Shame shame shame...
Shame on you(EA)....
That you couldn't get this game to be excited for 100% too!"
