I use Norton Antivirus and i haven't had any problems.
I've only once had a virus with Norton i couldn't remove with it and i had to get a different tool for it.
But i've used AntiVir too. It's good and FREE! :P

many say like you but norton have 2 problems -it is too slow when scanning for example if it scanned my 160GB it will take about 3hours and half -if you are updatting live and u cancelled by mistake norton will have many errors and u will reinstalle

Well if it takes that long to scan your 160gb of hd space it's not because of Norton.
I have 3 hd's: 1x 20gb, 1x 80gb and 1x 160gb and it takes about 30-45 minutes to scan them.
So either your pc is crappy or you have a computer full of spyware and stuff that makes it run slow.

I had Norton antivirus and Firewall some years back...i only had problems with it! When i changed it, everything got easier...Norton is also partly owned by Windows, maybe a part of the problem?

I really like Antivir cuz its simple and doesn't take too much resources... That's also the reason I hate Norton, it uses loads of resources!

I use a collection of software to keep my pc safe, norton antivirus 2004, Microsft Spyware Beta, Registry Mechanic, Spyware Doctor and Ad-ware. Sure it takes a bit longer for my pc to startup, but its worth it imo.

Not long actually, the one that takes the most time is Norton and thats when i'm doing a full scan. The rest are only few mins each. As for blocking each other, I've never had that issue, heck its done the opposite for me...something that MS Spyware Beta cant pick up Spyware Doctor does and vice versa. It's really handy.

Well.... here i go
  • Norton AntVvirus 2004 Professional (best Norton ever, end of story... personalised crack)
  • Microsoft AntiSpyware Beta (probably the best AntiSpyware program I know.... I used to rely on Spybot Search and Destroy)
  • Spyware Blaster (a program that blocks spyware from getting onto your computer)
  • Lavasoft's Ad-Aware SE Professional (by far the best adware/malware/everything else... detector)
How I have norton set-up is so that it runs deep scans on everything on my 160gig hard drive....
The set-up I have has never had a virus or anything else in it, I do enough crap on the internet that it should be riddled in viruses

All up with all three tests running at once, it takes a minimal 50 minutes
