NFS World: introducing Skill Mods

Today, a new feature was added to Need For Speed: World that will change the way Driver Skills work. They are now called Skill Mods, and there's a whole new driver skill points system in place (the older Driver Skills system has been completely removed).

There's a big post at World's website that explains everything, but basically, Skill Mods will work like Aftermarket parts or Performance Parts, which means, you can add certain skills to a certain car to improve various abilities, just like you add performance parts for better performance, or aftermarket parts to improve its visual. Instead of receiving skill points when levelling up, players will receive Skill Mods, which can be won from events or purchased using Speedboost. Each skill mod can be applied to a specific car for as long as the player wants it on there. There will be an inventory of unused Skill Mods, and the number of skills has been increased from 24 to 30.

You can find more information about this new feature, and how it works, here: http://world.needforspeed.com/news/article/41836

Also, don't worry about losing your previous Driver Skills. The developers' team has made sure everyone will benefit from this change, so your older Driver Skills will be converted to this new system, and you will gain various goodies, including performance parts, especially if you have invested a lot of skill points in skills that improved the car's performance.
