Setups > E46 MM-Spec

A 2001 BMW M3 E46 setup by GT3x24x7 created on 29. November 2009 14:09.

The E46 tends to be pretty bouncy in Works tune. This is my attempt to tame that somehow and produce a drivable car. The tune is specific to Spa - you'll find it just redlines in sixth at the end of the straight. Adjust the final drive as required when visiting other tracks.

Best Spa lap: 2:21.833.

  1. 13.50

Finally! Someone made a good setup for this car! Nicely done. Great idea turning the LS Decel Lock down that far. The car rotates nicely now.
As a matter of personal taste, on my setup I increased the Slow Bump Dampers to 3900, 3300 and the Slow Rebound to 5500, 6500 and found it was more planted, less bumpy. And likely because I'm not as smooth on & off the throttle as you are I also upped the downforce a little. But in any case excellent setup. Thanks! :)

You know what Manny, you're spot on! I changed the slow damp settings to yours and immediately liked the car better. In fact after I posted the setup, I had worked on the damping for quite a while, but wasn't able to bring the laptime down. Only now do I realise that 2:21 was a bit of a freak lap with the original setup.

So, with thanks, I've updated the damping settings and rebadged it recognition of your input. Cheers! :D
